The Roxana, Illinois Village Council recently convened to discuss police activities and a citizen’s attempt to annex her property into the village.

During the meeting, Police Chief Will Cunningham announced that the cameras in two new squad cars were defective. He sent them in for repair. Additionally, he had two requests for internships from college students and requests for ride-a-longs. He planned to check the liability insurance for this.

Water superintendent R. Glen Diveley announced that some of the new equipment will be starting up and everyone would receive training on new procedures for them. Additionally, he discussed fencing around the city’s water tower.

After these department heads spoke, Mayor Paul Oller read a request from Shannon Mouser, a citizen who wants to annex her property into the Village of Roxana. The Village attorney will look into the matter.
