The Godfrey, Illinois Climate Protection and Energy Efficiency Committee met recently to discuss various issues relating to solar energy and sustainability.

The first order of business was to discuss StraightUp solar bulk pricing. After that, the committee talked about a greenhouse gas inventory update. The update included ICLEI (Local Governments for Sustainability) software, data gathering and the usage of an intern for the group.

After then discussing the sustainability plan, the committee approved the meeting schedule for 2016.

The committee, which meets at 10 a.m. on the first Monday of every month, is chaired by Nate Keener. The group’s members include Matthew Waters, Carolyn Scott, Mike Stumpf, Christy Shafer and Vanette McConahey. Additionally, Pamela Whisler and Virginia Woulfe-Beile advise the committee.
