Madison County Board reviewed the 2016 budget at recent meeting

During a recent meeting, the Madison County, Illinois board tackled a host of issues, including discussing the 2016 budget and taxy levy ordinance.

A resolution was submitted and read regarding the budget for FY 2016. The board went through a summary of all funds, from personal services to repairs and maintenance. Line times were broken down to each subcommittee and board for the county.

The board then looked at the tax levy ordinance. This ordinance determined the amount of all county taxes for all county purposes, levying these taxes for the fiscal period – from the 1st of December 2015 to the13th of November 2016.

The board also heard monthly reports from the County Clerk, the Recorder of Deeds, the Regional Office of Education, the Sheriff and the Treasurer. Also on the agenda were various purchase contracts and zoning issues.
