Madison County Judiciary Committee meets to hear standing reports from Detention Home and Probation.

The Judiciary Committee for Madison County, Illinois, met at 8:30 a.m. today, Jan. 8.

After public comment and purchasing approvals, the committee heard standing reports from the Detention Home and Probation. This was followed by reports from the Circuit Clerk, Circuit Court and Sheriff departments. The State’s Attorney also gave an update.

The committee’s final of order of business was to tackle any old or new business topics on the agenda.

The Judiciary Committee liaises with the Circuit Court, Circuit Clerk, State’s Attorney, Sheriff – Jail operations, Probation and Court Services, Juvenile Detention Home, Public Defender and Jury Commission. It also works with elected officials on criminal justice operations, recommending any necessary changes in procedures.
