The Public Safety Committee for Madison County, Illinois, recently met to hear monthly reports from the government groups with which it liaises.

The committee evaluated monthly reports from the offices of Animal Control, License Investigations, Emergency Management, the coroner, the sheriff and the 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone System.

It also went over various purchasing approvals. The sheriff requested 15 defibrillators as well as 30 Dell Latitudes, 14 Rugged Extreme Mobil Computers, 55 Havis DS Dell 402-3 Docking Stations, four rifles and four silencers. The coroner requested to purchase a 2016 Interceptor replacement vehicle.

The Public Safety Committee exists to oversee the Emergency Management, Animal Control and License Investigations departments. Additionally, it liaises with the 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone System, the coroner and the sheriff on patrol operations.
