The Madison County Judiciary Committee recently gathered to discuss holiday festivities and monthly reports.

The circuit clerk’s office informed the committee about the month’s Christmas tree decorating contest, held in the courthouse.

From the Sheriff’s Office, J. Conner handed out the monthly jail population report. The meeting also included a monthly update of various projects going on within the committee.

Before adjourning, the committee approved two purchasing approvals: one for a workstation in the front office of the public defender and one for 20 cameras and camera licenses for the sheriff.

The committee provides liaison between the circuit court, circuit clerk, state’s attorney, sheriff, probation and court services, juvenile detention home, public defender and Jury Commission. Additionally, it works with officials in the coordination of justice operations.

Steve Brazier is the committee chair. Committee members include Gussie Glasper, Terry Davis, Mike Walters, Liz Dalton, Jamie Goggin and Robert Pollard.
