The Edwardsville Public Safety Committee recently gathered to examine various police and fire department issues.

The Edwardsville Public Safety Committee recently gathered to examine various police and fire department issues.

The Public Safety Committee for the City of Edwardsville recently met to hear from the police and fire departments, discuss various items of note and approve a resolution authorizing the mayor and city clerk to execute an easement with Ameren Illinois Company.

Action items related to the police department include the approval of capital purchase for gas masks from Pro-Tech and a memorandum of understanding between the city and community unit school district seven for the renewal of the intergovernmental police service assistant agreement.

Action items related to the fire department included the approval of capital purchase of a Polaris ATV from William Nobble & Company and a single source resolution approving Air Cleaning Technologies to install vehicle exhaust systems.

Additional highlights from the meeting include discussions related to the SAFER grant, Wildey Theater donation and the Public Safety construction project.
