Road

The Alton City Council considered a number of street closure requests during its meeting this morning.

Mac Lenhardt requested certain street closures near Mac's Time Out Lounge for special events on May 7 and July 3. Lenhardt said he would pay for any extra labor costs incurred by the city related to the street closures.

The council also heard a resolution asking the public works department, police department and fire department to close the parking lot between 101 W. Third St. and 117 W. Third St. from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. June 11 for an art show.

A request was also made by the East End Improvement Association Inc. and Upper Alton Association Inc. to temporarily close Route 140 from Brown Street to College Avenue and from Washington Avenue to College Avenue from 10 to 11:30 a.m. May 30 for a Memorial Day Parade.
