For CHS, its college enrollment rate marks an improvement over 2014, when 74.5 percent of its graduates chose post-secondary education.
Among high schools in Metro East, the class of 2015 college readiness rates at Edwardsville High School (66.8 percent), Triad High School (53.6 percent), Central Comm High School (50.0 percent) and Carlinville High School (49.1 percent) were all higher than at CHS. Carlyle High School (32.9 percent), Alton High School (40.0 percent), Staunton High School (47.7 percent) and Mascoutah High School (60.0 percent) were all lower.
The data, collected by the National Student Clearinghouse, includes two and four year colleges.
Enrollment at CHS in 2015 was 160. 34 (21.25 percent) were seniors.
Also according to ISBE, 46.2 percent of CHS seniors were "college ready" in 2015, versus an average of 46 percent statewide.
All students who score a 21 on the ACT qualify as "college ready."
CHS students did better on reading (41.0 percent) and English (59.0 percent) and worse on science (35.9) and math (35.9).
Only 17.9 percent of CHS students were college ready in all four subjects, according to ISBE.
