Granite City Police Committee considers motions

The Granite City Police Committee met Tuesday, Aug. 2.

"The members of each committee are designated by the City Council at large, and the Chairman for each committee is selected by the Mayor from the five members which are designated for each respective committee."

Alderman McDowell called the Police Committee Meeting to order.

McDowell turned the meeting over to the Police Chief Miller to explain the SRO Agreement.

Miller stated that in the new contract with the school board for the SRO Agreement that some of the wording has been changed. The City Attorney and I have reviewed the contract we don’t agree with the wording that was added to the SRO Agreement.

Motion by McDowell, second by Simpson to allow the Chief Miller, Mayor, and the City Attorney to negotiate the new contract for the SRO agreement for the school district. All Voted Yes. Motion Carried.

Motion by Petrillo, second by Simpson to adjourn the Police Committee Meeting. All Voted Yes. Motion Carried.

Meeting Adjourned.
