A special meeting of the Alton Historic Commission was called to order by Deputy Chairwoman Mary Anderson at 5:00 pm on September 13, 2016.
The commission took up the application for 607 Henry St. Aaron Joyce took the floor. He stated that at the last meeting, September 6, 2016, his contractor came before the commission and was told that the commission would not approve the application as presented with the front windows as side x side, double hungs. Joyce stated that he would do as the commission recommended and keep the two large picture windows on the front as picture windows. He stated that the window on the first floor has a transom and he would keep that as a transom. He stated that the windows would stay the same size as the current windows. The single window on the second floor, which has an arched top is to be replaced with a double hung and the arched top to be boxed. The commission requested that the arch be boxed in at the same angle as the picture window for uniformity. Joyce stated he was not going to touch the attic windows.
Diane Plummer moved to accept the application as presented. Charlene Walker seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously.
There being no further discussion or comments from the public, the meeting adjourned at 5:12 pm.
