City of Granite City Insurance and Safety Committee met on Tuesday, Oct. 4.

Alderman Williams called the Insurance & Safety Committee Meeting to order.
Motion by Williams, second by Simpson to go into Closed Session. All Voted Yes.
Motion Carried.
Motion by Williams, second by Simpson to come out of closed session. All Voted
Yes. Motion Carried.
Williams turned over to Kozer to discus increase in Medicare Insurance for the retirees.
Kozer stated that the supplements provided for retirees that they pay for; the increase for prescription is 2.63% and 5.80% for medical. The rates are high but this plan mirrors the city’s plan.
Motion by Williams, second by Simpson to give the Attorneys settlement authority as discussed in closed session tonight. All Vote Yes. Motion Carried.
Motion by Williams, second by Simpson to adjourn the Insurance & Safety Committee Meeting. All Voted Yes. Motion Carried.
