The city of Fairview Heights Administration Committee met Thursday to review the salary ordinance.

Here is the meeting's agenda, as provided by the committee:

The Operations Committee consists of members of City Council and the five Wards in the City. It contains the Law Enforcement Committee and Finance Committee.

Approval of Minutes

Motion and second were made by Alderman Denise Williams/Alderman Brenda Wagner to

approve the January 11, 2017 minutes with changing Ludwig to Lea. The motion carried by

voice vote and was unanimous.

Finance Committee

Bill List

The following items were discussed on the bill list:

• Refund for $25 - business license

• Ameren entries – staff will talk to John Harty about consolidating the Ameren bills

• Cordless headset – staff will talk to Tom Weissert about the purchase

Staff will send out a memo regarding the above items.

Motion and second were made by Alderman Pat Peck/Alderman Denise Williams to approve the

January Bill List in the amount of $2,626,871.79. The motion carried by voice vote and was

unanimous.

Health Insurance Renewal

Bob Stewart and HR Coordinator Dana Mehrmann were present to discuss the health insurance

renewal. Stewart said the health insurance rates went up 9%, vision went up 3%, and the

dental remained the same. Open enrollment will be at the end of March. There will be two

options for employees to pick from, the traditional plan and the HSA Plan. Mehrmann presented

the wellness option, which will cost 1% on top of what the city will pay already. Committee

asked staff to do more research on the wellness option over the next couple weeks and bring it

back to committee for discussion.

Motion and second were made by Alderman Brenda Wagner/Alderman Denise Williams to

forward the United Healthcare and Guardian Health Insurance renewals to City Council. The

motion carried by voice vote and was unanimous.
