Route 100 to close near Pere Marquette for one week

Roadworkahead 1000x667

Illinois Route 100 will be closed between Scenic Drive and Schallenberg Lane from 6 a.m. today until approximately 6 p.m. on Friday, depending on weather and other factors, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT).

Emergency repairs to two culverts that cross under the road a little north of Pere Marquette State Park are forcing the closure, IDOT said in a press release. Drivers will be required to use a detour on Routes 3, 109 and 106, which will be clearly marked, although the agency suggests travelers find alternate routes. Those who do follow the detour are being asked to slow down, exercise caution and remain patient because of the change to traffic patterns.

Access to Pere Marquette State Park will still be available via Route 100 through Grafton.
