More than 350 seniors came out for a recent senior fair in DeKalb hosted by Rep. Bob Pritchard (R- Hinckley) and Sen. Dave Syverson (R-Rockford), according to a rpress elease from Pritchard.
The fair was an opportunity for seniors to learn about the wide range of programs and organizations offering senior services in the DeKalb community, bringing 80 providers together under one roof to make it easier for attendees to hear about them. Vendors at the fair included state, county and local government agencies, as well as health and wellness organizations.
The event was hosted by Pritchard and Syverson in cooperation with the Family Service Agency, which has been working with area seniors for five decades, according to Pritchard’s release. Pritchard urged any area seniors with legislative- or state-related concerns to call his office at (630) 748-3494. For those with general concerns, Family Service Agency runs a range of physical, emotional and social wellness programs throughout the year, all geared toward maintaining independence.
