Granite City Finance Committee met June 2.

Alderman Jackstadt called the Finance Committee Meeting to order and turned over to the Mayor.

Mayor stated that Community Development funds have been paying for fire trucks in the past and we would like to continue to do this from Community Development. We would like to receive bids and purchase a new fire truck.

MOTION By Jackstadt, second by McDowell to have the City Attorney draw up a Resolution for the next meeting for bids and purchase of the fire truck. ALL

VOTED YES. Motion Carried.

MOTION By Jackstadt, second by McDowell to give the Mayor Approval Authority to get bids for the new fire truck. ALL VOTED YES. Motion Carried.

Mayor stated that the purchase of 3116 Jill would be used as an easement for storm water over to the ditch.

MOTION By Jackstadt, second by Williams to approve the purchase of the property at 3116 Jill. ALL VOTED YES. Motion Carried.

Jackstadt stated that the next three have to do with Electric for City and Residential properties and turned over to the Mayor and City Attorney.

Mayor stated that this Resolution would allow us to sign contracts for the City, so we are asking for that authority. In addition, you all need to decide if you want to stay green and waive the ¼% sales tax.

MOTION By McDowell, second by Williams to the authority for the Mayor and Alderman Jackstadt sign, to stay green and waive the ¼% sales tax. ALL VOTED YES. Motion Carried.

Jackstadt turned over to the City Attorney Konzen.

City Attorney Konzen stated that next is an Ordinance to hire Special Counsel to negotiate for the City and this is something that we have done in the past to get the best rates for the City and it up for approval tonight.

MOTION By Jackstadt, second by Williams to approve an Ordinance to hire Special Counsel to assist the City in negotiations and contracting for Electric Power Supply for City-Owned Buildings, and in the City Municipal Aggregation Program. ALL VOTED YES. Motion Carried.

City Attorney Konzen stated next is the electricity service agreement for homeowners that is up for approval tonight.

MOTION By Jackstadt, second by Elliott to approve and Ordinance ratifying the execution of a service agreement for the supply of electricity for Residential and Small Commercial Retail Customers who do not opt out of such a program (Electric Aggregation). ALL VOTED YES. Motion Carried.

MOTION By McDowell, second by Elliott to adjourn the Finance Committee Meeting. ALL VOTED YES. Motion Carried.

MEETING ADJOURNED.
