City of Belleville Electrical Commission met June 27.

Here are the minutes provided by the commission:

1. CALL TO ORDER / OPENING REMARKS 

Chairman Tom Bell called the meeting to order at 1:05 p.m..

2. ROLL CALL OF MEMBERS AND STAFF 

• PRESENT - Chairman Tom Bell, Bryan Jarvis, Ryan Diekemper, Josh Hader, Rob Roehrig 

• ABSENT - Joe Harnist

• STAFF MEMBERS - City of Belleville Electrical Inspector Ed Escobedo

• GUESTS - None

3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES – 

Motion to approve the minutes for May 23, 2023

Motion Made By: Josh Hader

Seconded By: Bryan Jarvis

Voice Vote: All Aye

Motion: Passed

4. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION None.

5. New Business 

• Academy Air- Jaime Flores Application Review 

The Commission reviewed all documents with the application. 

A Motion was made to approve Jaime Flores to take the ProV Exam Motion Made By: Bryan Jarvis

Seconded By: Ed Escabedo

Voice Vote: All Aye

Motion: Passed

• Helio Solar- Jason House Application Review 

The commission reviewed all documents with the application.

A motion was made to approve Jason House from Helio Solar for an Electrical Contractor License after Jason House meets with the commission for an interview.

Motion: Passed

• Midwest Solar Solutions- Joseph Bowler 

The commission reviewed all documents with the application.

A motion was made to approve Joseph Bowler with Midwest Solar Solutions to take the ProV Exam.

Motion: Passed

• Sun Solar- Scott LeDuc 

The commission spoke with Scott Le Duc from Sun Solar over the phone. Tom Bell explained why the commission wanted him to call in to the meeting. Ed Escabedo explained his conversation with the homeowner at 20 Mariknoll Dr and that the work was started without a permit. Scott Le Duc was under the impression that they held an electrical license and a building permit. He apologizes on behalf of the company, and he will check with the local office to see what happened. He will contact Ed Escabedo after he talks with the local office. Bryan Jarvis explained the procedures for solar permits and inspections.

A motion was made to approve Sun Solar to allow them to get electrical permits again.

Motion: Passed

Discussion was held by the committee about the application and interview process. Ed Escabedo asked Rob Roehrig if there are any new requirements for Ameren. He stated there have not been any changes. Discussion was held about different requirements that Ameren currently has.

A motion was made to adjourn the meeting.
