Parents in the Collinsville Community Unit School District 10 are being reminded to complete the Illinois 5Essentials parent survey before March 10, 2026. The survey is part of a statewide effort to gather feedback from parents, teachers, and students on school conditions.
LaToya Berry-Coleman, Director of Curriculum and Assessment, stated: “This is a reminder to participate in the parent survey supplement, part of the Illinois 5Essentials Survey administration. We guarantee that survey responses will never be connected to the identity of you or your child. School reports will only present aggregated information of how parents and students responded as a whole.”
A report for parents will be generated if at least 20 percent of parents or guardians respond. While individual data will not be made public, these reports will be shared with building principals and district administrators to help guide decisions based on parent input. Berry-Coleman emphasized confidentiality: “Your participation in the parent survey will help us understand the conditions at your child’s school and guide improvement. Again, your identity and individual survey responses will be kept completely confidential and will never be connected to you or your child.”
Teachers and students in grades four through twelve across Illinois are also participating in the 5Essentials Survey. Reports for schools will be produced if response rates meet required thresholds. These research-based findings are expected to be distributed to schools and districts in May and included in the State School Report Card released each fall.
