FOIA Request to Wood River City Council Regarding Council Members’ Details on October 15, 2024.

As part of our ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Metro East Sun have sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Wood River City Council in Illinois. The request, dated October 15, 2024, seeks specific details about the council members.

The information requested includes the names and titles of all council members, the year they were appointed, their term length (2 or 4 years), and their term expiry dates. We believe that this information is crucial for holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.

As a media organization involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, access to such public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. In light of our role in disseminating information, we have also requested a fee waiver as a media professional.
