Granite City High School announced on April 1 its schedule for the 2026 summer sports camps, offering sessions in eight different sports for students across various grade levels.

The camps aim to teach athletes fundamental skills in a supportive environment. Participants will be grouped by grade and skill level, receiving individual instruction from the high school coaching staff and current Warrior team players. According to the announcement, “GCHS Camps are designed to instruct athletes on fundamental skills involved in their sport in a fun and enthusiastic atmosphere. Athletes will be divided by their grade level and skill level receiving individual instruction. These camps will be directed by the Granite City High School coaching staff along with current players from the Warrior teams.” Information about each camp is available through brochures at the main office of Granite City High School.

The camp schedule includes baseball (July 13-15), boys basketball (May 27-29), boys soccer (June 2-4), cross country (August 3-7), football (June 9-11), girls basketball (June 15-19), girls volleyball (July 28-30), and softball, with dates to be announced. Fees range from $20 to $40 depending on the sport, with t-shirts included for most sessions. Registration forms can be submitted directly to Granite City High School addressed to each head coach.

Granite City Community Unit School District 9 serves Madison County and includes several schools such as Coolidge Junior High School, Frohardt Elementary School, Grigsby Intermediate School, Maryville Elementary School, Mitchell Elementary School, Prather Elementary School, Wilson Elementary School, and Granite City High School itself according to Illinois Report Card.
