Granite City Community Unit School District 9 has announced that Tuesday, January 27, 2026, will be an E-Learning Day due to inclement weather and hazardous road conditions. The district said there will be no in-person classes for students or staff.
In a message to families, the administration stated: “Due to inclement weather and hazardous road conditions, Granite City Community Unit School District #9 will utilize an E-Learning Day on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. There will be no in-person classes for students or staff.”
The statement continued: “This decision was made to prioritize the safety and well-being of our students and employees.”
Students are expected to complete their assignments from home. Teachers will be available from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to provide support. The district directed families to visit the GCSD9 E-LEARNING PAGE on its website for more information about instructions and expectations.
The administration added: “Thank you for your flexibility and understanding. Please stay safe.”
