Illinois HB2854 passed the state House on March 29.

The bill, as it was introduced in the House by Rep. Robyn Gabel (D-18) on Feb. 14, will amend the Illinois Municipal Code and the Fire Protection District Act, according to the General Assembly website.

The measure now must be considered by the Senate.
