In the week ending Feb. 7, one gas station in Madison County sold premium gas at the lowest reported price of $3.29 per gallon, according to customer reports submitted to GasBuddy.
The average reported price of premium gas across the county was $3.72 per gallon.
Among 110 gas stations in cities within Madison County, 45 offered premium gas.
The average reported price for a gallon of premium gas in Illinois was $4.01, up from the previous week.
U.S. gas prices continue to decline after reaching their lowest level since 2021, according to GasBuddy. The group projects the national average could dip below $2.80 per gallon during the holiday period, driven by increased oil production and lower seasonal demand.
