There were two gas stations in cities across Madison County selling premium gas at the lowest price of $3.39 per gallon in the week ending Feb. 28, according to customer reports submitted to GasBuddy.
Countywide, premium gas averaged $3.82 per gallon.
Among 110 gas stations in cities within Madison County, 40 offered premium gas.
Statewide, premium gas averaged $4.02 per gallon for the week ending Feb. 28, up from the previous week.
U.S. gas prices continue to decline after reaching their lowest level since 2021, according to GasBuddy. The group projects the national average could dip below $2.80 per gallon during the holiday period, driven by increased oil production and lower seasonal demand.
