Rep. Mike Bost, who represents Illinois’ 12th congressional district, recently used his social media platform to inform constituents about upcoming mobile office hours and to comment on issues of election integrity and government shutdowns.

On January 31, 2026, Bost announced plans for constituent outreach: “My staff will be hosting mobile office hours across Southern Illinois this February so you can speak with our casework experts face-to-face with comfort and convenience. Please visit with any questions you may have regarding veterans’ benefits, Social Security, Medicare, the IRS,” he wrote.

Addressing concerns over election processes on February 2, 2026, Bost stated: “Both parties can agree that faith in our elections is at a dangerous low point. Restoring that trust starts long before Election Day by ensuring voter rolls are properly maintained and ineligible voters are removed. Today, I joined Reps. Miller and LaHood in sending a letter to”.

Later the same day, Bost criticized Democratic leadership over recent government funding disputes: “Chuck Schumer and Washington Democrats shut down the government a few months ago to appease the far-left fringe of their base. Well, it’s certainly Groundhog Day today, because we’re in the midst of a movie we’ve seen before: another Democrat Shutdown – with border enforcement,”.

Bost has served as U.S. Representative since first winning election in 2014 against William L. Enyart with 52.5% of the vote. He has since been re-elected multiple times by significant margins—defeating Charles Baricevic in 2016 (54.3%), Brendan Kelly in 2018 (51.6%), Raymond Lenzi in 2020 (60.4%), and Chip Markel in 2022 (75%)—demonstrating strong support within his district.
