Rep. Mike Bost, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Illinois’ 12th district, shared a series of tweets expressing his views on regulatory and legislative matters. Bost has been a member of Congress since 2015, following his tenure in the Illinois House of Representatives.
On March 13, 2025, Rep. Bost reflected on past environmental regulations, “Remember the Obama-era Waters of the U.S. rule that put EPA bureaucrats in control of every waterway, ditch, and farmland pond in America? President Trump rolled back this crippling overregulation during his first term, only for Biden to bring the hammer down on our farmers once…” This tweet highlighted his criticism of reinstated environmental policies under President Biden’s administration.
Later that day, he commented on a recent vote by House Republicans regarding government funding: “Nearly every House Republican voted to pass a resolution funding government and preserving essential services. Nearly every House Democrat voted against it. Now the spotlight’s on the Senate. As recently as September of last year, Democrat Leader Chuck Schumer said shutdowns were…” This statement emphasized partisan differences over fiscal decisions.
On March 14, 2025, Rep. Bost addressed internal conflicts within the Democratic Party concerning government shutdowns: “Democrats in disarray” – we’ve heard it before. But the internal division is especially vicious today, as liberals in Congress fight amongst themselves about whether to shut down the government. Schumer and his allies say fund the government because they argue it will be easier…” His remarks pointed to perceived discord among Democrats regarding budgetary issues.
