Rep. Mike Bost, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Illinois’ 12th district, has shared several personal and political reflections through his social media posts. His messages range from honoring family to addressing national issues.

On June 15, 2025, Rep. Bost commemorated Father’s Day by reflecting on his late father, Gene. He expressed that although it has been almost three years since his father’s passing, his legacy continues to be a source of pride for the family. In his post, he stated: “Happy Father’s Day to all the dads in Southern Illinois! It’s been almost three years now since we lost my father, Gene, but we think about him every day. His legacy lives on, and I know he’s looking down proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.”

Later that same day, Bost attended a vigil at the U.S. Capitol steps in memory of Sarah Milgrim and Yaron Lischinsky, victims of a violent act outside the Capital Jewish Museum on May 21st. He emphasized the importance of combating antisemitic hatred with these words: “Earlier this week I attended a solemn vigil on the steps of the U.S. Capitol honoring the memory of Sarah Milgrim and Yaron Lischinsky… We must work to root antisemitic hatred.”

On June 16, 2025, Rep. Bost addressed immigration policy issues under President Trump’s administration while criticizing actions by D.C.’s City Council members whom he described as “radical-left politicians.” He expressed disapproval over their resistance to federal immigration authorities: “As President Trump works to clean up our immigration crisis… That’s unacceptable.”

Mike Bost has served in Congress since replacing Gerald Hawkins in 2015 and previously held positions in both state legislature and local government bodies.
