There were 18 offenders released on parole during the first quarter that live in Belleville zip codes, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Metro East Sun.

The data shows that 15 men and three women were released in Belleville. Of the parolees, two are veterans, and the median age is 35. The youngest parolee is a 23-year-old woman sentenced for crimes against a person in 2016, and the oldest is a 53-year-old man sentenced for sex crimes in 2017.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest is Orlando S. Richardson. He was convicted of crimes involving drugs in 2015 when he was 48 years old. He is now 52.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
