The data shows that 74 men and eight women were released in St. Clair County. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 35. The youngest parolee was a 20-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2017, and the oldest was a 68-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving one or more weapons in 1991.
The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Darrell Brockman Jr. He was convicted of a crime involving one or more weapons in 1991 when he was 40 years old. He is now 68.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
