There were eight offenders convicted of financial crimes or fraud released on parole in St. Clair County during the first quarter of 2019, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Metro East Sun.

The data shows that six men and two women were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for financial crimes or fraud was 41. The youngest parolee was a 26-year-old man sentenced in 2018, and the oldest was a 57-year-old man sentenced in 2018.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Jeffrey M. Wilson. He was convicted in 2013 when he was 42 years old. He is now 47.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
