State Representative Amy Elik (R-Alton) will partner with Chestnut Health Systems to host a free Narcan seminar and giveaway in Roxana, Illinois. The event will take place on Thursday, November 6, at the Roxana Village Hall, with seminars scheduled for 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM. Attendees will receive Naloxone after each presentation.

“Opioid overdoses are becoming all too common,” said Rep. Elik. “Naloxone has already saved countless lives, and I’m proud to be teaming up with Chestnut Health Systems to educate the community on the benefits and uses of this revolutionary medicine. I encourage you to come out and learn about how you could save a life with Naloxone.”

Narcan, also known as Naloxone, is a medication that can quickly reverse an opioid overdose. While Narcan was originally the brand name for Naloxone when it was first approved for this use, there are now several formulations and brands available.

Elik is a Republican who began serving in the Illinois State House in 2021 representing the 111th House District after succeeding Monica Bristow.

For more information about the seminar or questions regarding the event, constituents can contact Rep. Elik’s office at 618-433-8046.
