State Senator Erica Harriss’ annual Share the Warmth Drive has concluded, with donations distributed to Riverbend Family Ministries to assist local families during winter. The drive collected items such as hats, gloves, socks, hand warmers, and chapstick from November 3 through December 3.

Senator Harriss expressed gratitude for the community’s involvement. “This year’s Share the Warmth Drive truly showed the heart of our community,” said Senator Harriss. “Every hat, glove, pair of socks, and hand warmer represents someone in our district looking out for a neighbor. I am so grateful to everyone who donated, spread the word, or volunteered to help. Together, we’re making a real difference for families in need.”

She added that compassion is demonstrated through action in her district. “The 56th District continues to prove that compassion isn’t just a word—it’s action. Because of your generosity, families in our community will feel supported, cared for during the winter months ahead,” concluded Senator Harriss.

Harriss was elected as a Republican to represent Illinois’ 56th Senate District in 2023, succeeding Kris Tharp.
