Troy seeking grant applications for 2016 tourism projects

Troylogo

The City of Troy, Illinois is now accepting funding proposals for tourism projects that would take place between January 1 and April 30 of next year.

The grants will be awarded by the city's Economic Development and Finance Committee. Award amounts can be specified by applicants in their application, but the committee said it plans to award conservatively to keep the fund stable for future use.

Applicants should be prepared to describe their event, how it benefits the community,  if it will generate income, and how the profits will be recycled back into the community.

Applications should be submitted to Economic Development Director Jean Myers by November 30. Submissions can be sent electronically to jean.myers@troy.il.us or by regular post to City of Troy, 116 East Market Street, Troy, Illinois, 62294, Attention Jean Myers.

Proposals will be presented to the City Council at the December 14 meeting. Applicants are encouraged to attend if they'd like to make themselves available for questions the council might have about their proposal.
