Flags ordered to half-staff to honor Paris victims
President Barack Obama and Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner issued an order yesterday for all schools, prisons, and government buildings in Illinois to lower their flags to half-staff in honor of the victims of recent terrorist attacks in Paris.
More than 120 people were killed and hundreds injured Friday when terrorists linked with ISIS attacked several sites around Paris, including nightclubs, restaurants, a concert hall, and a stadium. France has since retaliated with airstrikes against ISIS in Syria. Officials continue to search for at least one missing suspect believed to still be alive. Several others killed themselves during the attacks.
Flags are to remain at half-staff until sunset on Thursday.
