Traffic

The Board of Trustees for the Village of Pontoon Beach, Illinois assembled recently to discuss new business initiatives.

Trustee Brad Eavenson presented a motion, which was seconded by Trustee Steve Freese, to approve Resolution No. 15-039. This dealt with the dissolution of the Collinsville Recreation District. The motion carried unanimously.

There was no unfinished business to be discussed at the meeting.

Also of note, Eavenson said that he and Mayor Mike Pagano met with the Granite City School District officials regarding traffic problems. These problems had arisen during school hours at Grigsby Junior High. No action was taken at the meeting regarding the issue, but it is still under consideration.

From the floor, Carol Hunan addressed the board about a continued traffic problem on Highway 162 at Paragon Lane. Mayor Pagano responded by stating that Juneau & Associates has been in touch with the Illinois Department of Transportation regarding the problem. This issue is a state issue, and one that will need to be handled by the Department of Transportation.
