Edwardsville City Council met recently to discuss taxes, other issues

The City of Edwardsville, Illinois City Council met recently to discuss taxes, bonds and other city issues.

Near the start of the meeting, Mayor Hal Patton read a thank you letter from the Village of Hamel. In it, Hamel officials thanked Edwardsville for its assistance in spraying for mosquitos in Hamel. Following this, Patton presented the Mayor’s Award to Justin Hemings and the Edwardsville High School golf team.

A motion then carried to approve the resolution providing for the abatement of a tax levy relative to the payment of interest and principal on the general obligation waterworks refunding bonds.
