Alton Historical Sub-Commission meeting Wednesday morning

The Alton Historical Sub-Commission will meet at 8 a.m. on Wednesday at City Hall, 101 E Third Street.

The meeting will include an application for 604 Langdon and comments from the public.

The Historical Sub-Commission conducts a survey of the city, with the goal of identifying and documenting improvement opportunities for structures and areas that have significant historical value. It recommends to the city council possibilities for historic landmarks. It has responsibilities and duties assigned to it by the state under the Certified Local Government provision of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, as amended.

The chairman of the sub-commission is Doug Bader. The commission's members include Jonas Janek, Matthew Asselmeier, Mary Anderson and Diane Plummer.
