The Finance and Government Operations Committee for Madison County, Illinois met recently to discuss purchasing approvals, important resolutions and other assorted topics.
Among the purchasing approvals brought before the committee included an annual software and maintenance contract for Animal Control, a hydraulic power box rake and single wing rotary mower for the Highway Department, and new servers and inventory systems for the IT department.
On the resolutions front, the committee reviewed several significant issues. One resolution was for purchasing a Power 8 server upgrade for the Circuit Clerk. Another one centered on renewing the Cisco Smartnet maintenance program for the IT Department.
Also of note during the meeting were two immediate emergency appropriations. The first one was for the 2013 SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) enhanced drug court treatment program while the second one dealt with the 2016 Health Department IBCCP (Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Program) grant.
At the close of the meeting, Annette Schoeberle, director of the Department of Safety & Risk, notified the committee that Safety and Risk Management was in the middle of benefit open enrollment.
