The Wastewater Treatment Committee for Granite City, Illinois, met at 4:30 p.m. today, Jan. 19, to discuss the CSO Pollution Prevention Program (CSO PPP) and CSO Operational and Maintenance Plan (CSO O&M Plan).

The committee assessed CSO PPP, which must be developed, revised, then presented to the general public at a public information meeting within nine months of the effective date of the NPDES Permit.

The CSO O&M Plan, which has been under development, will be presented to the general public at a public information meeting -- an act that again must be done within nine months of the effective date of the permit.

Finally, the committee examined an ordinance to approve notice to bidders for the construction of waste water treatment plant aeration tank improvements.
