The Collinsville Board of Fire and Police Commissioners plans to revise its board handbook at this afternoon's meeting.

The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners for the City of Collinsville, Illinois, will meet at 2 p.m. today, Feb. 3, to approve its revised handbook and discuss intercommunication between the fire and police board, the police department and the fire department.

The board will allow speakers from the public in accordance with Ordinance No. 4765. Time is limited to four minutes per speaker. Before adjourning, the board will also decide whether or not to approve the hiring of a full-time probationary firefighter.

The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners was created to provide a method through which personnel of the fire and police departments could be taken out of the realm of political patronage for hiring and promotions.
