The Maryville Park and Recreation Committee held its regular meeting recently to give reports on past events and plan for future ones.
A report was given on the February Discovery Series and the Running for your Life event, which took place on January 31.
Future events discussed include the Floral Designs event and How to Plan for your Future events that are part of the Discovery Series, as well as the Best of Maryville Art Show and Contest, movie showing and concerts. An Elvis impersonation concert will take place on May 27 and a new band called “Mister T & House Shakers” will play on September 4.
Also of note at the meeting was a speech from the mayor where he gave project and land updates. Specifically, he talked about Drost Park, noting the dead trees, fish signs progress, asphalt repairs, and west side restrooms.
