St. Jacob City Council discusses financing options for new Village Hall

Meetings

St. Jacob City Council discussed financing options for the new Village Hall and water tower in its recent meeting.

Attorney Andy Carruthers noted that there are borrowing options as well as grant opportunities with Madison County, the state of Illinois and the federal government. The council could seek general obligation bonds, alternate revenue bonds, promissory notes or intergovernmental loans.

The council also heard from the Community Development Committee, which discussed holiday lighting costs, and the Police Department, which went over updating emails and the website. The council also approved a police request for $1,100 to use Moonlight Computing LLC to update its systems.

Additional meeting highlights included the Homecoming report, in which the council approved new committee appointments, and the Treasurer report.
