Alton announces Memorial Tree Program

Tree

Alton recently made an announcement about its Memorial Tree Program.

The city believes the gift of a tree memorial can be a special gift to a loved one as it represents the special remembrance of life through a growing, beautiful tree.

Possible planting sites include Milton Park, Gordon F. Moore Community Park, Russell Commons Dog Park, Rock Spring Golf Course, Spencer T. Olin Community Golf Course, Hellrung Park, Riverfront Park, Olin Park, Haskell Park, Dormann Park, Barth Park and Liberty Bank Amphitheater.

Tree memorials cost $75. A letter will be sent to families and donors informing them that the tree will be planted and dedicated during the spring of 2016. Every year, the city holds a dedication ceremony in June.
