Alton City Council approves redirected traffic for Marquette Catholic High School's Fun Run and Walk

During a recent Alton City Council meeting, a resolution was approved for the Public Works Department, Police Department and Fire Department to direct the temporary closure of Fourth Street at certain locations on Saturday, May 7, so that Marquette Catholic High School can have its annual Fun Run and Walk.

A resolution was brought forth by the Department of Development and Housing to authorize the purchase of property located at 1318 E. 4th Street. The department would use community development block grant funds, not to exceed $17,500, to pay for the purchase.

Present at the meeting were Mayor Brant Walker, City Clerk Mary T. Boulds and City Treasurer Cynthia A. Roth, along with alderpersons Jim Ryan, Carolyn MacAfee, Mike Velloff, Alice Martin, Charles Brake, Gary Fleming and David Boulds.
