Alton Committee of the Whole to meet, consider resolutions

The City of Alton Committee of the Whole will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, June 20.

The Alton Committee of the Whole is responsible for reviewing and auditing all bills, considering property tax abatement for industrial firms and managing the Municipal Band. Meeting are held at 7 p.m. on Mondays preceding city council meetings.

Here is the meeting agenda as provided by the Alton Committee of the Whole:

JUNE 20, 2016

1. Call to order.

2. Roll Call.

3. Audit of Accounts.

4. Resolution, re: 6th Street between Ridge Street and Spring Street be closed on July 4, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. for a church outreach.

5. Resolution, re: That Section 2 of Chapter 5 of Title 1 of the City Code of the City of Alton shall be amended by changing the start time of the regular meeting of the City Council from 7:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month and that said Section 2 of Chapter 5 of Title 1 of the City Code shall be amended by changing the start time of the standing committee to 6:00 p.m. on the Monday immediately proceeding any regular City Council meeting.

6. Resolution, re: State Statues have recently been amended concerning the mandatory training for alcohol servers in Illinois bars and restaurants and that the attached ordinance be considered.

7. Resolution, re: That a portion of certain streets be closed on September 24, 2016, to facilitate the Miles for Meso walk sponsored by Simmons, Hanley, Conroy.

8. Resolution, re: The City of Alton entered into an Agreement with Paul Lott and Ray Sinclair d/b/a Sinclair Cedar Ridge Farms, jointly and severally, referred to as FARMERS and that the Public Works Director is hereby authorized and directed to execute any and all documents as may be necessary to renew said Agreement from time to time upon the same terms and conditions as originally stated in said Agreement.

9. Resolution, re: That its officials and agents are hereby authorized to pursue appropriate legal action against such properties in the Circuit Court as listed below:

10. Resolution, re: That a portion of certain streets be closed on Friday, July 29, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and Saturday, July 30, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. to facilitate the Main Street UMC event.

11. Adjourn.
