City of Alton Civil Service Commission met May 17.

A regular meeting of the Civil Service Commission was called to order at 8:15am on May 17, 2017, at
Alton City Hall, 101 E. Third Street, Alton, Illinois.
Members Present: Vicki Searles-Williams, Terry Bristow, Jonas Janek
Members Absent: None
Staff Present: None
Guests Present: None
A motion was made by Ms. Williams and seconded by Mr. Janek to approve the minutes of the regular
meeting on April 5, 2017. Motion passed.
Part-Time Secretary 1 requisition was signed.
Firefighter Requisition was signed.
Fire Captain Requisition promoting Bill Simon was signed.
Fire Engineer Requisition promoting B. Jacob Hartnett was signed.
Three reprimands and one written warning from the Fire Department were discussed.
Civil Service will be using Command-Solutions for Fire Promotion testing moving forward. There were
no objections.
With no further business, Mr. Bristow made a motion, seconded by Ms. Williams to adjourn at 8:20am.
Motion passed.
