City of Alton Civil Service Commission met June 7.

Here is the minutes as provided by the commission:

A regular meeting of the Civil Service Commission was called to order at 8:15am on June 7, 2017, at

Alton City Hall, 101 E. Third Street, Alton, Illinois.

Members Present: Vicki Searles-Williams, Terry Bristow, Jonas Janek

Members Absent: None

Staff Present: Civil Service Attorney Patrick King

Guests Present: None

A motion was made by Ms. Williams and seconded by Mr. Janek to approve the minutes of the regular

meeting on May 17, 2017. Motion passed.

Patrick King was recommended by the Mayor and Attorney James Schrempf to be the new Civil Service

Attorney replacing Rodney Caffey. Ms. Williams made a motion to appoint Patrick King as the Civil

Service Attorney, upon the same terms as applied to Rodney Caffey, seconded by Mr. Bristow. All in

favor. No objections. Motion passed.

Sewer Maintenance Operations Supervisor requisition was signed.

Sewer Maintenance Grade V requisition was signed.

Letter of Reprimand from the Police Department was discussed.

Verification of Verbal Warning from Public Works was discussed.

Two Official Reprimands, with one being a Notice of Suspension, from the Fire Department were

discussed.

With no further business, Mr. Bristow made a motion, seconded by Ms. Williams to adjourn at 8:27am.

Motion passed.
