City of Troy City Council met May 1.

Here is the minutes provided by the Council:

1. Regular City Council Meeting-7:30 p.m.

A. Call to Order and Pledge of Allegiance:

Prior to the call of order and the Pledge of the Allegiance, Appellate Court Justice David Overstreet swore in the newly elected officials. Sworn in were Allen Adomite as Mayor, Jamie Myers as City Clerk, David Roady as City Treasurer, Matthew Thompson as Alderman Ward I, Sam Italiano as Alderman Ward II and Nathan Henderson as Alderman Ward IV. The meeting was held in the Council Chambers in the City Municipal Building, 116 East Market Street, Troy, Illinois, 62294 and was called to order by Mayor Allen Adomite at 8:35 p.m.; immediately following was the Pledge of Allegiance.

B. Roll Call in Alphabetical Order: Present: Aldermen Nathan Henderson, Sam Italiano, Dan Jackson, Douglas Partney, Matthew Thompson and Troy Turner. Other Officials Present: Mayor Allen Adomite, City Treasurer David Roady, City Administrator Jeff Soland, Building and Zoning Administrator Keith Frey, Director of Public Works Rob Hancock, Chief of Police Brad Parsons, City Engineer Tom Cissell, City Attorney Fred Keck and City Clerk Jamie Myers. Absent: Aldermen James “Tex” Daniel and Jeffrey Zarzecki.

C. Reading and Approval of Minutes: None

D. Communications, to be provided by the City Clerk:

City Clerk Myers congratulated the newly sworn in officials.

E. Citizen Participation, limited to three (3) minutes per Person: None.

F. Mayor’s Comments:

1. Cake & Refreshments Following this Meeting-

Mayor Adomite announced there will be cake and refreshments in the training room following this meeting.

G. City Administrator & Attorney Comments:

1. City Administrator’s Comments-

City Administrator Soland had nothing to report.

2. City Attorney Comments-

City Attorney Keck stated that City Administrator Soland and he will be meeting with the police sergeants’ union and hopes to report on it at the next council meeting.

H. Consent Agenda, including Administrative Reports and other items to be voted collectively with one roll call vote: None.

I. Administrative and Community Services Committee Report:

1. Building and Zoning Administrator Report

There was no new report.

J. Finance and Economic Development Committee Report:

1. City Treasurer Report

There was no new report.

K. Law Enforcement & Emergency Services Committee Report:

1. Chief of Police’s Report

There was no new report.

L. Public Works Committee Report:

1. City Engineer Report

There was no new report.

2. Public Works Department Schedule and Report

There was no new report.

3. Time for Director of Public Works

There was no new report.

M. Reports of Special Committees (as needed): None.

N. Ordinances & Resolutions, called by City Clerk, with Citizen Participation limited to three (3) minutes per Person;

O. Closed Session (as needed): None

Mayor Adomite congratulated the newly sworn in council members. He recognized the terms Alderman Italiano has already served. Mayor Adomite also said City Treasurer Roady has served for 36 years.

P. Adjournment, no Later than 10:00 p.m.

Motion: To Adjourn the Meeting at 8:39 pm. Moved by Henderson; Seconded by Thompson. Vote: Motion carried by unanimous roll call vote (summary: Aye = 6). Aye: Henderson, Italiano, Jackson, Partney, Thompson and Turner. Absent: Daniel and Zarzecki.
