City of Belleville Electrical Commission met July 24.

Here is the minutes provided by the Commission:

Meeting called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Chairman Larry Glaenzer.

The minutes of the last meeting in June were read and approved with modification "Ray Paige was not ticketed".

Inspectors Report:

•In the month of June there were 159 total inspections. Of the 159 inspections, 73 were housing inspections and 86 were other inspections.

•On 7/7 Kaiser Electric of Morton Illinois was found doing work at the Casey's on 1706 Mascoutah Ave without a license and were verbally warned. On 7/11 they were found doing work at 2709 West Main as a sub for 5 Star Electric. On 7/14 a letter of clarification concerning licensed electricians working in Belleville was sent

to them.

Old Business:

•The Commission led a discussion on Guidelines for Belleville Licensed Electrical Sign Contractors. The discussion was tabled until next meeting to give all Commission members time to review the guidelines.

New Business:

•Kristopher Schmittgens appeared before the commission for an electrical icense. The commission will sponsor Kristopher Schmittgens to take the Thompson Prometric exam. Kristopher Schmittgens must pay a $25.00 application fee within 30 calendar days from the commission meeting of July 24, 2017. This must be done prior to giving a Prometric test application. He was also advised that, by city ordinance, after showing proof of passing the exam, he must show proof of being an owner, partner or an officer for Reinhold Electric. He was also advised that if he does not pass the exam, he must show proof of further education before the commission will re-sponsor him for the exam. Kristopher Schmittgens will have one year from the date of passing the Prometric exam to finalize all paperwork and receive his Belleville Electrical License. If the paperwork is not finalized within one year Kristopher Schmittgens will have to re-apply for the electrical license.

•Christopher Garofalo appeared before the commission for an electrical license. The commission will sponsor Christopher Garofalo to take the Thompson Prometric exam. Christopher Garofalo must pay a $25.00 application fee within 30 calendar days from the commission meeting of July 24, 2017. This must be done prior to giving a Prometric test application. He was also advised that, by city Ordinance, after showing proof of passing the exam, he must show proof of being an owner, partner or an officer for PayneCrest Electric. He was also advised that if he does not pass the exam, he must show proof of further education before the commission will re-sponsor him for the exam. Christopher Garofalo will have one year from the date of passing the Prometric exam to finalize all paperwork and receive his Belleville Electrical License. If the paperwork is not finalized within one year Christopher Garofalo will have to re-apply for the electrical license.

•Les Benton appeared before the commission for an electrical license. The commission will sponsor Les Benton to take the Thompson Prometric exam. Les Benton must pay a $25.00 application fee within 30 calendar days from the commission meeting of July 24, 2017. This must be done prior to giving a Prometric test application. He was also advised that, by city ordinance, after showing proof of passing the exam, he must show proof of being an Owner, partner or an officer for JF Electric. He was also advised that if he does not pass the exam, he must show proof of further education before the commission will responsor him for the exam. Les Benton will have one year from the date of passing the Prometric exam to finalize all paperwork and receive his Belleville Electrical License. If the paperwork is not finalized within one year Les Benton will have to re-apply for the electrical license.

•Scott DeRuntz appeared before the commission for an electrical license. The Commission will sponsor Scott DeRuntz to take the Thompson Prometric exam. Scott DeRuntz must pay a $25.00 application fee within 30 calendar days from the commission meeting of July 24, 2017. This must be done prior to giving a Prometric test application. He was also advised that, by city ordinance, after showing proof of passing the exam, he must show proof of being an Owner, partner or an officer for TD4 Electric. He was also advised that if he does not pass the exam, he must show proof of further education before the commission will re-sponsor him for the exam. Scott DeRuntz will have one year from the date of passing the Prometric exam to finalize all paperwork and receive his Belleville Electrical License. If the paperwork is not finalized within one year Scott DeRuntz will have to re-apply for the electrical license.

•Steve Houska appeared before the commission for an electrical license. The Commission will sponsor Steve Houska to take the Thompson Prometric exam. Steve Houska must pay a $25.00 application fee within 30 calendar days from the Commission meeting of July 24, 2017. This must be done prior to giving a Prometric test application. He was also advised that, by city ordinance, after showing proof of passing the exam, he must show proof of being an owner, partner or an officer for Modern Communications. He was also advised that if he does not pass the exam, he must show proof of further education before the Commission will re-sponsor him for the exam. Steve Houska will have one year from the date of passing the Prometric exam to finalize all paperwork and receive his Belleville Electrical License. If the paperwork is not finalized within one year Steve Houska will have to re-apply for the electrical license,

•Prometric Test Results: Robert Jones had a score of 68 which failed the exam, Thomas Ohara had a score of 82 which passed the exam, and Timothy Zapf had a score of 66 which failed the exam.

The next meeting will be held on August 28, 2017 at 6:00 p.m.
