Report: Roxana spent $12,378 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Roxana Community Unit School District 1 is up 12 percent from five years ago, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Madison County school district spent $11,018 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $12,378 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1929 to 1904.

Roxana's spending in 2016-17 was 5 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
